Sweet sixteen.

Sweet sixteen.

On today’s Up To Speed news rundown, host Raquel Wilson gives us the scoop on:

🎗️Remembering September 11, 2001: those we lost, Verizon’s call to action and how you can give back today.

Tomorrow is the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, when nearly 3,000 people lost their lives, including V Teamers Donna Bowen, Derrick Washington and Leonard White.

▶️ Reconnecting New York: In addition to sharing the grief of this terrible event, Verizon played a special role in reconnecting New York following the attacks. Be sure to check out this short film, “9/12: The untold story of reconnecting New York,” which features employees who were there, working to deliver cell phones (in a time when they were not ubiquitous), making repairs, bringing the Stock Exchange back online and so much more.

🫶Give back: 9/11, AKA Patriot Day, is not a federal holiday but a national day of mourning, and honoring the bravery and sacrifices of citizens, first responders and service members. One way to do so is through volunteering. Look for opportunities to volunteer on the Verizon Volunteers Portal.

🧑‍🎓Learn more: Check out the 9/11 Exhibit on The Verizon Story. And tomorrow, check out the #verizon-archives Slack channel for additional details about our response and the restoration of our historic New York headquarters building.

🗣️💬 Talk back: where were you on 9/11? On the job? In school? Did you learn about it in a history class? What impact did it have on you at the time, and as time went on?

🏈 Partnering with the Pittsburgh Steelers to provide much-needed relief to veterans in need. [1:04]

Verizon is supporting local veterans in Western Pennsylvania in a big way. Through the Steelers Debt Relief Program Powered by Verizon, we will clear $100,000 of Veterans’ debt for every Steelers win this season, lifting the financial burden of our heroes in a meaningful way.

📅 When are they coming? The iPhone 16 series comes to Verizon with preorders starting this Friday, September 13 (for once, a lucky Friday the 13th!).

🔎 Notable features? Groundbreaking AI features and cutting-edge camera and video technology.

💲Big deals available? YES! Thanks to our guaranteed trade-in program, customers can trade in any phone, in any condition and get an iPhone 16 Pro on us, or $1000 off any of the new iPhone 16 models.

📲 What about folks making a switch or adding a line? They could be eligible to get an iPhone 16 Pro for just $10 a month with the Unlimited Ultimate, or $15 a month on Unlimited Plus! 😯

🧑‍💼 And for business customers? They can score up to $1,000 off a new iPhone 16 when they trade in an old phone and sign up for Business Unlimited Pro, or they can get an iPhone 16 for as low as $10 a month by adding a new line on Business Unlimited Pro.

What about the new Apple Watches? The new Apple Watch Series 10 is the thinnest Apple Watch ever, and you can get one for as low as $6 a month when you buy select iPhone models, with a qualified watch trade-in.

🔌And accessories? For a limited time, customers can get 20% off select chargers, cases, screen protectors and Apple Watch accessories.

❓⁉️ THE BIG QUESTION: When can V Teamers get one? You have to be a little patient – we always have to wait until customer orders are fulfilled and there are no backorders. Generally a month or two, and we’ll let you know the moment you can order, so stay tuned to Up To Speed!
